March 28th Snow Storm

It started snowing about 4:00pm on March 28th. It snowed all night and morning. We received about 6 inches at our home. Others got more depending on where they live. James and Audra and family came to visit Friday and Saturday. They came for Sophie's birthday party on Saturday. We enjoyed playing games during the snow storm. Makayla had high fever Friday night and still had one Saturday morning so she took a trip to the emergency room in Colville. She has an ear infection. She was feeling better by Saturday afternoon.

Jordan in the Mountains of Brazil

Jordan visited the top of a mountain on his P-Day. He said it was awesome there and he took about 150 pictures. He is doing well and enjoying his mission.

Spring Snow

I woke up this morning to find that it was snowing. I wonder how long it will snow today. My parents are coming from Utah for Easter. They are arriving today.

Jordan's wonderful surprise

Jordan was at the CTM on Wednesday for a doctor's appointment for his companion and he met Danny Maruji. Excerpt out of his letter: "You may not believe this but yesterday, p-day, I ran into Elder Danny Maruji...... totally talked with someone from home, I was shaking with joy. He didn’t recognize me until I shook his hand and said, “Hello Elder Maruji”. It was great to see how he was doing."

Dustin's penalty kick

Dustin's team played Riverside today. They won 5-1. Dustin made 3 out of the 5 goals. Logan made his first goal today. This is a picture of Dustin shooting a penalty shot and he made it.

Trip to Germany

Jim and I are planning a trip to Germany next month. Trissa is planning on coming with us. We will also be going to Prague, Czech. Jim's relatives come from that city and we have heard that it has escaped the bombs of the last centry's wars. We hope to get some pictures and maybe find out more about his relatives. We will be traveling with our friends Klaus and Gabi Bechtold.

William's 16th Birthday

March 9th was William's 16th birthday. William's family, including cousins, aunts, uncles, niece and nephew, came to celebrate his birthday. Many other family members called and wished him happy birthday. He received a camera, legos, a waterproof box and money.

Dustin's first soccer game of the season

Dustin played the entire game 0f yesterday's soccer game. They won Deer Park 2 to 1. Dustin made one of the goals and the other came as a result of a penalty kick. The weather was windy and cold. You can see the snow on the side lines. The other field is still covered in snow. They cleared this field with shovels and a snowblower so they could start practicing 2 week ago.

The field was very wet and there were puddles on the edge of the field. As you can see the ball was waterlogged. When Dustin headed the ball, water came gushing out. Look at the expression on the Deer Park player's face.

"Annie"

Retta and I went to the Woodland Theater's production of "Annie" last night. I really enjoyed the show. I thought Annie did an outstanding job. I am still recovering from my illness but it is good to get back to my daily routine. Spring is on its way. The sunny days are nice. We still have snow but it is melting more and more each day.

Finally feeling better

I have been sick for over a week and I am finally feeling better. All I have done in sleep, eat and read. I have been able to read a few good books. It has kept me sane this past week. Jordan got transfered last week and is now in Atibaia, Brazil. He has another native companion and was able to go to a wedding of a couple that was baptized the next Sunday. He is learning the language and enjoying his ability to communicate with the people. He has learned a lot from each of his companions. They speak very little English. He has been out now for just over 6 months now.
