Big Wind Storm

Sunday evening we were above the garage when the wind began to blow and we heard a snap, crash and metal crushing.  Jim hurried out to see what damage was done and found the top of a tree down next to the red Subaru.  The tree had taken the street lamp right off of the pole which crashed to the ground.  Luckily the driveway was not blocked and all vehicles were safe.  Monday during the day the tree settled into the driveway so for family night Jim cut the tree up while William and I hauled it to the burn pile.

Jim and I went to James' on Saturday and Jim helped build the deck stairs.

We tried to all get together for Dustin's open house but John was not able to come.  We took a picture and hope to be able to photo shop a picture with John in it.

We had planned on going down the Kettle river but the weather was cool so they decided to have a picture scavenger hunt.  I took care of all the children while they scavenged.

Dustin and Lexie's Open House

Friday, August 16th we invited friends and family over to celebrate Dustin and Lexie's wedding.  They were married in April but did not have time to come home.  Lexie's parents and younger brother drove down for the event.  We served cheese cake and ice cream with candy on the tables.  We enjoyed all who came to celebrate with us.

Back to Colville we go

Tuesday we flew to Denver and then Spokane.  Trissa was working at the airport so we were able to visit with her a little.

It was good to be back home.  Mirjam made a German meal and we invited Grandma and Grandpa over.  We had fun making Kaesespaetzle and German Chocolate Cake.  She also served German chocolates.

Friday I went to a wedding with Mirjam. She was able to meet a few people knew from school.

Sunday Jordan made Pizza and we had a birthday party for Mirjam.  Tabby and her family were able to attend.

Monday Mirjam and I went to the airport and off she flew back home.  We had a wonderful time while she was here. Thanks Mirjam for spending your vacation with us!!

Shop until you drop in Salt Lake

Monday we went shopping for everything left on Mirjam's list.  When Laura's clan got tired my sister came after work and we shopped until dark.
