Emily one week old

I have enjoyed having Makayla spend a week with me.  She had a great time and did not want to go home.  We jumped on the tramp and went to see great grandma Divis every day. The family will come up next week for a mini family reunion.  Laura and family will arrive Monday afternoon and will stay until Saturday. Audra's mom took these wonderful pictures. Emily is one week old.

Emily Camille Divis has arrived

Monday I took Grandma and Kathy to Spokane and in the evening we attended Jeri's flute recital.  She did awesome!  She is very good.
Her piece is recorded and posted on my Facebook.

Tuesday I made a shrug for my dress for Trissa's wedding.  Wednesday I took Grandma to the Valley for an appointment and when I returned home I got a call from James that Audra was in labor.  Jordan and Mariah took care of the kids until I was able to arrive.  I had a music practice scheduled at 6:30 so I went and did that and then headed for Spokane again. I got to James' and sent Mariah home and Evan was still up.  Sadie woke up and it took a little to get her to stop crying.  Evan fell asleep after 11 and I finally got Sadie back down at 12:30am. I went straight to bed exhausted.  The kids were up at 6:30 and another day began.  James is still in school so we walked him to school.  Audra had the van because she went into labor at her doctor's appointment and had to go straight to the hospital.  James had his last final this morning at 8:00.  He only got 2 hours of sleep but he is finished with school until fall.  He came home and took a shower about 3:00.  He was able to pick up James from school which worked out great.  I still had kids taking naps.  James took us all to the hospital to see "Mom" and Emily.  James helped me load them all back into the van and then he went back to spend the night with Audra.  I took the kids to McDonalds for dinner and we played for over an hour.  That was crazy but James told the kids that was what we were doing so I went for it.  We returned home and I got them ready for bed.  We watched a whale movie and then everyone went to bed but Evan.  I turned everything off and just sat on the couch with Evan.  He was asleep by 10:00.  I went straight to bed, exhausted.  Makayla had me up at 5:15 but I needed a shower so she took a shower with me and I was ready for the day when James Micheal woke up at 6:30.  James had his last day of school, which lasted one hour.  We walked him to school at 10:00 and then we returned at 11:00.  Makayla was tired of walking.  Dad returned from Everett today.  He was just driving up when we returned from getting James Micheal.  After lunch James came home with Audra and Emily.  I put Sadie down for a nap and the rest of us went to the park.  James drove and dad came too.  Jordan and family met us there.  After playing at the park Jordan bought Papa Murphy's pizza and we cooked it at James.  After dinner James packed up Makayla and I brought her home with me.  She will stay with me this week. Saturday we had fun jumping on the tramp, playing the piano and coloring. (She likes to play with the colored pencils)  Dad spent most of the day outside working.  He weed whacked, mowed the weeds everywhere and grated the driveway. Dad got to come to our ward today. Kathy and I sang a duet in church today.  Sister Griessmann played her flute and Sister Rhodes played the piano.  People said we sounded good.  After church Grandma, Grandpa, Jeff and Kathy came for dinner.  I called my dad to wish him a happy Father's day and talked to my mom.  By the time I hung up the phone Makayla was asleep.

Memorial Day Weekend

Saturday Jim was working outside and he heard a loud snap.  Then he heard a louder snap and he saw a big tree branch fall to the ground.  He went to get the chain saw and found it was out of gas and oil and it was leaking fluid.  We went to town and got the things to fix it and then returned home to clean up the mess.  Monday Jim barbecued pork ribs and we had friends over for dinner. I planted some tomato plants and some flowers.  It was a beautiful day.

Can you see where it came off the tree on the right?

A week later we came home Saturday evening to find another tree branch on the ground.  This one was smaller and Jim was able to move it off the driveway.  He will have to take care of it Monday.

30th Wedding Anniversary

May 15th is our 30th wedding anniversary.  Jim was out of town on business but we celebrated the end of January in Disney World.  We had such a wonderful time.  We have had a great 30 years together and I look forward to the many years to come.

Jordan's Birthday

Jordan's birthday was May 8th but we celebrated Saturday. We ate Domino's pizza and had cake and ice cream.  Mariah made a really cool cake.  His theme was Volcom so the house had Volcom symbols hanging from the ceiling and on the walls.

Trissa and Gavin come to visit

Trissa and Gavin came up the end of April for Ryan's wedding reception.  She spent most of here time in Spokane with Mariah.  I brought them home one night.  Trissa bought me flowers for my birthday.

Carter in the Hospital

I got a phone call Monday(April 9) morning telling me that Carter was in the hospital and would I be able to come and take care of Kendra.  I talked to my boss and got the rest of the week off.  A couple hours later Laura called and said everything was taken care of for the week and I didn't need to come.  I worried and called all week.  Carter was still in the hospital Friday so I took the next week off work and flew to Utah Saturday morning.(Friday I found out I got the job at Hofstetter.  I will be working until June 8.) Lyn, my sister, came and picked me up at the airport and took me to the hospital.  We visited for a while and Laura said she didn't need me until Sunday evening so I went home with Lyn.  We enjoyed the evening and I went to church with her the next morning.  After church Laura called and needed me immediately and she came and picked me up.  She has been sick all week and needed a break.  She spent the night at home and got some rest and then left early Monday morning to be with Carter.  Carter returned home Tuesday and is doing well. Laura is getting the much needed rest and is starting to feel  better.  Jim flew to Salt Lake Friday for Ryan and Danielle's wedding Saturday. Friday night we all went out to dinner and then went bowling to celebrate my birthday at the end of the month.  Jim will be out of town on my birthday so we celebrated early. We spent all day Saturday with wedding and reception.  We went to church with Laura's family and Mom and Dad Divis came also. We flew to Denver Sunday afternoon and then home Monday morning.

Unfortunately Carter got sick again the next week with the Sister virus and had to receive breathing treatment every one to two hours for a week.  He almost had to got back to the hospital but he finally started to get better.
He is now doing great and sleeping through the night again.

Spring Break

Jim worked in Olympia the last week of March and flew directly to Utah for his mission reunion on Friday March 30.  I took two days off work and flew to Utah also.  The next week, being Spring Break, I stayed with Laura until Thursday.  Jim flew back to Olympia Monday morning for work.  Jim enjoyed his reunion and was able to see companions for the first time since he served over 30 years ago.  I enjoyed spending time with Laura and her family.
