James' Family came for the weekend

Jordan brought James Micheal, Makayla and Evan to Colville Friday afternoon. We all went to our ward Harvest dinner. They had Halloween games for the children. When we returned home James and the rest of the family were there waiting for us. Saturday Jordan, James and James Micheal helped Jim with the banisters. James Micheal enjoyed being out with the big guys. They returned home Saturday evening in time for their ward Halloween party.

Jordan's Family came for the weekend

Jordan, Mariah and Della came up this weekend. Jordan dug out a spigot and put in a new one for dad. We picked apples on Saturday too. Dad got hit right in the nose with an apple when he was putting the ladder up. We are making apple cider this afternoon. Life is busy with school work and lesson preparations. Dad took the week off work and is making the banister for the great room. The weather has gotten cold. It has frozen the last couple of nights.

Family Trip to Hawaii

We planned on flying to Hawaii on Tuesday morning but we received a phone call Saturday morning from Trissa informing us there were only 2 seats available that day and there were 36 seats available Sunday. So were hurried and packed and left for Seattle Saturday afternoon. We took both of our cars, James, Jordan, Mariah and Dustin went in one car and Jim and I in the other. We spent the night at Dave's in Puyallup and then went to the airport Sunday morning. Dave and Annette came with us and had 2 of their children drive the cars home. All 8 of us got on the flight to Kauai and some of us got to sit together. Flying standby is always an adventure. We arrived in Kauai and rented a car. We all could not fit in it so they took 5 and then came back for the other 3. We rented a house in Poipu and were very lucky it was available 2 days early.

Monday morning we went to the beach to watch the sunrise and most went out in the ocean. We came home and changed and then headed for Lihue to go shopping and get Dave's rental car. That afternoon we headed to the beach again to go snorkeling. I rented some that had magnification in the mask so I could see without my glasses.

Tuesday morning we went on a Kayak trip. Our appointment was at 8:00am. We kayaked for 2 miles and then hiked for 1 mile to a waterfall and then hiked back to the water and kayaked backed. It was great fun. After returning we headed to the airport to pick up Laura and Carter and turn in our rental car and rent the other two we had originally scheduled. Everyone went to the beach when we returned home and I stayed and took care of Carter. Jim went and picked up Trissa and Gavin from the airport and they stayed with us that night.

The women spent Wednesday making decorations for the wedding and I took care of Gavin. Some played at the beach in the afternoon. The boys took the convertible out and drove to the North Shore.

Thursday we went to Shipwreck beach. The boys went into the ocean and got slammed around and the rest of us went for a hike.

Friday was the wedding, some of us went to see a waterfall and hoped to find a way to hike down to it but with no success. We did see pigs

Saturday we drove to the North shore, we stopped at this beach where there was a sand castle contest going on. We decided not to stay and went on to Tunnels beach.

This is in the dry caves at Tunnels. Some went to the wet caves and we all went snorkeling. Jim got some good video. It was the best snorkeling of the vacation.

Sunday we went to church in the morning. Jim put the top down on the convertible on the way home from church.

Monday the Seattle crew, minus Jim and I headed to the airport. James made it on the flight to Seattle but the rest had to fly to Oakland, California. They spent the night at the airport and flew to Seattle at 6:30 in the morning. Jordan and Mariah flew on to Spokane and Dustin stayed in Seattle to spend a few days with his cousins. Laura ,Carter, Jim and I after getting the others off went to the beach for the last time. I snorkeled with Laura and Trissa. It was hilarious. We then came home and Laura got packed up. We took her to the airport for her Red-eye flight home.

Tuesday Jim and I headed to the airport in the morning and made our flight to Seattle. Jim sat in the front of the plane and I sat in the back but we were on the same plane and that is what matters most. We arrived in Seattle at 7:30 and Dustin and Jennifer came and picked us up. We spent the night at Dave's and then drove home Wednesday.

Family Reunion

All of Jim's brother and his sister and their families were able to come and celebrate Dustin's return. We had a great time together. We played frisbee golf, miniture golf, ultimate frisbee and other games. Most went down the Kettle river one day.

Colville Tiger-Tri

I ran the third leg of the Tiger Tri Saturday July 21. I ran instead of Toni Griessmann, my good friend. Her daughter, Kirsten swam 1 K, her husband, Peter rode 40 K on his bike and I ran the 8 K run. I didn't run it very fast but I ran the whole way and did my best. I decided to do it Friday night and the race was Saturday morning. Kirsten was going to have to swim and run so I decided to do it.

4th of July

Jim and I went to the ward breakfast at 8:00am. After visiting with others we went shopping and then home to paint the floor. We are painting the bottom floor of the "echo room" so when we set up table and chairs to eat I can clean the floor easier. We removed everything from the room and then taped the walls and cleaned the floor. Jim and I both painted and Jim threw paint chips over the wet paint. It looks pretty cool. I received a text message from Utah with a picture of Elder William Divis and his companion in front of the American flag with the message; "Happy Fourth of July". I was fun to see a picture of one of my missionaries.

June Family Reunion

Laura, Craig and family came to visit June 25-30. Jordan and Della arrived first on Sunday evening. Mariah arrived Monday afternoon along with Laura's family and James Micheal and Makayla. Tuesday James, Evan and Sadie arrived. It rained all day so we visited inside and played games. Jordan made dinner. He made Calzones, all different kinds. I made a fruit pizza for dessert. Wednesday we played FIFA, Frisbee golf, miniature golf, and Settlers. Audra and Emily arrived Wednesday also. Thursday we went to the Columbia river and played in the water and built a sand castle. Kendra cut her finger so they left a couple hours before the rest of us. Audra and Emily didn't go to the river. We barbecued burgers and dogs. Friday we spent recuperating from Thursday. We barbecued ribs and potatoes Friday. Jordan, James, Audra, Makayla, Evan, Sadie and Emily left Friday evening. Laura's family left Saturday morning and Mariah left Saturday afternoon. James Micheal and Della didn't go home until Sunday. We went to Emily's blessing in Spokane Sunday. We had a wonderful week.
