School is finished. Off to Glacier National Park with Jim and our friends Adam and Sherri
July 29, 2014 Adam, Sherri, Jim and I headed for Glacier National Park. We brought our canoes on a trailer behind Jim's car. We took the "Going to the Sun Road " to Logan Pass. We hiked to Hidden Lake and back. When we returned to the car we found mountain goats in the parking lot. After watching them be shewed away by the rangers, a ranger came and talked to us. He let us know that we were not allowed to pull a trailer on the Logan Pass road. The ranger was very kind when Sherri asked him to give us just a warning and we promised to go the long way around to return home. We proceeded to our cabin at Many Glacier Campground and ate a late dinner of pasta salad that Sherri made. Wednesday we launched to canoes into Swiftcurrent Lake and paddled across the lake and through a river to Lake Josephine, we continued to the other side of the lake where we went to shore and prepared to hike to Glacier National Park Glacier. We hiked four miles in and ate lunch at the Glacier and then hiked back to our canoes. The two and a half mile canoe trip back to the car was great. Thursday we traveled home the long way to avoid the highway we were not allowed on. Next time we come to glacier we will put the water craft on top of the car so we can enjoy more of the park.
